Can I apply for a B1 visa while waiting for H1B results? 1 Answers as of April 23, 2015

I recently had my L1B petition rejected and I have submitted an H1B petition. The results of it are still awaited. However, I need to visit my employer in US for business meetings in the next few months before the H1B results come out. Can I apply for a B1 visa in parallel? What are the risks?

You can always apply, the question is will you be granted a visa? The answer is that you may not be granted a visa since you have a nonimmigrant visa other than the one you want to apply for already in the works. However, having said that there is no harm in applying anyway and see if you are successful.
