Can a city force the sale of a home if someone cannot pay for repairs? Posted on February 18, 2011My mother's home is in disrepair. The city has been on her for several years to repair it and so far she has financially been unable to comply. They now want a commitment from her to repair it or they will sell it to someone who is financially capable of repairing it. Can the city force the sale of her home because she is not complying to the city codes?
