Can an employer ask direct questions about a disability during a job interview? I was honest and forth coming about my disability and then was scrutinized about what I could do. I thought they were not allowed to ask direct questions about a disability?

The Americans with Disabilities Act provides that a prospective employer can only inquire as to a prospective employee's medical condition after a conditional job offer has been made. In other words, an employer has to offer you a job first, and then make it conditional on passing a physical for instance. There cannot be any inquiry on the job application related to your health as most job applications are the first document you complete before any job offer.
