Are felony child abusers supposed to have custody of children? Posted on June 22, 2011

My baby mother is a felon of child abuse resulting from sexual actions with a minor. She is trying to sue me for child support when I have and always take care of my child. She is from Florida where the charge happened. I filed for custody of my daughter in fear of whom she is because as time goes on things are popping up about what she has really done in her past. I just need to know are there laws stating that child abusers are supposed to have custody or be alone with children?
