Am I responsible for paying a bill for my child just because he/she is covered on my insurance? 1 Answers as of June 28, 2011

I have received couple of bills from a hospital that my daughter was cared for at. Am I responsible for paying a bill for my child just because he/she is covered on my insurance?

If the child is a minor, as far as the health care provider is concerned you are responsible because he is your child (and insurance is irrelevant to that). The facts you omitted dictate the full answer. Is there a court order between the two of you? You failed to tell us that. And did you sign anything? And how old is the child. Minus those facts, all you get is half an answer.
