Am I legally entitled to a copy of a written contract which I signed? Posted on July 01, 2011

I did an internship at a design studio called Sawyer Studios in New York City; I signed a contract for them that went over some confidentiality issues and punctuality issues. I asked for a copy after I signed it, which was never given to me. I completed this 3-month internship on May 10th, 2011 and I asked the person in charge and he told me he lost it. I then asked for the information in the contract, which he denied to provide me. My question then will be: Am I legally entitled to a copy of this legal agreement, which I signed for Sawyer Studios?
