Tom Humphrey is Boise, Idaho native. He is a former law clerk for the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He earned his juris doctorate from the University of Idaho, College of Law in 1990. He received his B.S. from the University of Oregon in 1984, in Telecommunications and Film, with a minor in Business. Mr. Humphrey a member of the Idaho State Bar and admitted to practice before all courts in Idaho, and the United States Courts of Appeals for the Ninth and Tenth Circuits. He has practiced in a wide range of areas of civil litigation over the years, including complex commercial litigation, administrative law, ERISA, personal injury, energy, administrative law, liquor license regulation, insurance defense, environmental insurance coverage, real property, consumer, criminal, professional and specialized errors and omissions liability coverage and other areas. He has successfully argued dispositive motions in state and federal court, tried numerous cases to verdict, and argued matters before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. When he is not practicing law, Mr. Humphrey writes fiction. He has had stories published in Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine and other national publications.
