In private practice, Richard has been involved in a large number of High Profile Homicide Cases. He is one of only a few in the Northeast Florida area qualified by the Florida Supreme Court to handle Death Penalty cases. Richard won his first three First Degree Murder trials. He also won a reversal the first time he argued a Death Penalty case in front of the Florida Supreme Court and the critical issues were DNA, Evidence Tampering and Witness Tampering.
Richard R. Kuritz is a member of the Florida Bar, the Colorado Bar, United States Supreme Court, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Capital Crimes Commission, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the Federal Bar Association, the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Jacksonville Bar Association.
