About Me

For his undergraduate work, Mr. Cojocar attended Wayne State University; he completed a major in political science and a complimentary minor in criminal justice. After graduation, he enrolled at the Florida State University College Of Law. During law school, he took part in clinical externships at both the First District Court of Appeals for the Honorable William Benton, III and at the Jefferson County State Attorneys Office, handling all areas of criminal prosecutions on behalf of the state of Florida.

Upon graduation from law school in 1995, Mr. Cojocar moved back to Michigan, took and passed the Michigan State Bar Examination and began his legal practice career at a small litigation firm in Sterling Heights, Michigan. In 1998 he started his own practice, which he has actively pursued since that time period.

Jeffery Cojocar has served as a Director on the Young Lawyers Section Board of Directors of the Macomb County Bar Association for five of the last six years. He is also a proud member of the Oakland County Bar Associations American Inn of Court and is an active member of several other professional organizations including the following: State Bar of Michigan, Macomb County Bar Association, Oakland County Bar Association, Michigan Trial Lawyers Association, State Appellate Defender Office (SADO) Forum, Criminal Defense Attorneys Association of Michigan, American Association for Justice, American Inns of Court, Institute of Continuing Legal Education.

Jeff Cojocar practices mainly in the Tri-County area of Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties located in southeastern Michigan, near Detroit. He has, however, litigated cases throughout Michigan including cases in the counties of Lapeer, St. Clair, Sanilac, Saginaw, Midland, Ingham, Bay, Washtenaw, Genesee, Montmorency and Calhoun. Mr. Cojocar is admitted to practice in all state courts throughout the State of Michigan, as well as the Second Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati, Ohio, and the U.S District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan in Detroit, Michigan.

Mr. Cojocar has authored a number of articles on legal topics. He routinely attends Continuing Legal Education courses and seminars and has been a speaker at many of these seminars as well.
