After graduating from Chino High School in 1973, I enlisted in the United States Army where I served as a military policeman. Upon my honorable discharge, I became a California Highway Patrolman, serving in East Los Angeles, Ontario, Barstow, and Victorville. While the emphasis of my practice has been criminal defense, I have also successfully represented clients in the areas of juvenile law, family law, and personal injury. I have been in private practice since 1991. I am a past president of the High Desert Bar Association, and have served as a Judge Pro Tem. After passing the State Bar Exam on my first try, I was hired as a prosecutor with the San Bernardino County Distract Attorneys Office. While working as a traffic officer, I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from the California State University at San Bernardino. I continued my education, graduating from the University of La Verne College of Law, in 1989.
