I am licensed to practice law in both Texas and Missouri. I opened my own law office in 2009. I began my career as an attorney in 1999 with the U.S. Army Judge Advocate Generals Corps, serving until 2005. I then practiced law as a civilian attorney at the U.S. Army Medical Command Headquarters, located at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. I primarily worked on health insurance and Medicare-related legal issues while at that position. I accepted a position at the University of Texas Health Science Center-San Antonio as a Regulatory Analyst for Research Operations in 2008. I still work in this capacity part time, where I give advice on legal issues regarding clinical research.
I am active in a number of professional organizations including serving as the Chair-Elect of the Military Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. I am also on the Board of Directors of the San Antonio Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, and I am an appointed officer (web master) of my sorority alumnae association.
I have a bachelor degree from North Dakota State University, and I earned my law degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. I served as an enlisted soldier in the U.S. Army Reserves while in law school, until receiving my commission into the JAG Corps.
I enjoy running and I am currently training for the Rock n Roll San Antonio Marathon (which will be my first!) in my spare time. I also enjoy reading and spending time with my husband and two sons.
