George M. Derieg was born and raised in the Bay Area, and considers Alameda County his home. He was educated at UC Berkeley, and Golden Gate Law School. While in law school, Mr. Derieg had the privilege in working for the Innocence Project on a case where a man’s conviction for rape was overturned after serving over 10 years in prison. After that experience, Mr. Derieg decided to become a Deputy Public Defender. While working as a Deputy Public Defender, Mr. Derieg gained experience litigating criminal cases from arraignment to jury trial, these cases range from low level misdemeanors to high level felonies. Mr. Derieg has handled thousands of misdemeanor cases and hundreds of felony cases, and treats every case as if it was his own. Since starting his own practice, Mr. Derieg has branched out and as well as practicing criminal law, he is also practicing family law, probate, and estate planning. Mr. Derieg understands that in this difficult economy, he will sit down with you and discuss a payment amount or payment plan that will be able to work for you.
