After obtaining his bachelors degree in Chemistry at the University of New Mexico, Mr. Romero was granted a National Institutes of Health grant to begin study at the UNM School of Medicine, Toxicology graduate program. He subsequently went on to receive his Masters degree in the program concentrating his research in the area of Drug Pharmacology and Immunology. During his graduate studies Mr. Romero also published his scientific results in the Journal of Toxicology and Applied Pharmacology. Mr. Romero then worked for the federal government as an Analytical Chemist conducting quality control on pharmaceuticals undergoing nationwide clinical trial. After making a move to Southern California, Mr. Romero took scientific positions at Protein Polymer Technologies, a small San Diego biotechnology company, and at Pfizer Inc. working as a drug discovery scientist. Mr. Romero attended Thomas Jefferson School of law in San Diego while maintaining a full time position at Pfizer.
