Schwarzenegger Hires Divorce Attorney

Published on 06/20/2011 -

Arnold Schwarzenegger has hired divorce lawyer Robert Kaufman to handle his divorce procedure with wife Maria Shriver. The Terminator actor's attorney has already been in contact with Shriver's legal representative, Laura Wasser, and they are moving forward with proceedings to end the 25-year marriage.

Kaufman's previous work in Hollywood includes the 2005 split between Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt as well as the divorces of Reese Witherspoon and Jessica Simpson. Kaufman and Wasser have been on opposite sides of court before and both specialize in keeping stars' divorces low profile.

Schwarzenegger and Shriver separated on May 10 shortly before California's former governor was forced to admit he had fathered a 13-year-old boy with the their former maid Mildred 'Patty' Baena.

It is believed that the divorce will cost Schwarzenegger around $200 million if the couple's assets are split evenly which would make it one of the most expensive celebrity splits in history.

The couple has four children together: Katherine, 21, Christina, 19, Patrick, 17, and Christopher, 13. They've already issued a statement saying that they will continue to share parental duties.
