You are not obligated to provide any user or attorney with any information.  LawQA.com will never ask you for any of this information.

Who is answering my question?
Qualified attorneys who sign up to participate on LawQA.com.

Is my post confidential, or can everyone who visits the site view it?
All posts on LawQA.com are public and can be seen by any guest or member who is viewing our website. By using LawQA.com, you are agreeing that no attorney-client relationship of any kind is created by participation in any area of our website.

Do I have to be a member of the site to ask a question?
No.  Anyone is able to ask questions.  However, you do have to provide your e-mail address in order to receive a response from LawQA.com

Is it free to use after I sign up?
Yes.  LawQA.com is completely free.  There are no obligations when you ask a question.

How do I receive my response?
After you ask your question you should receive an e-mail asking you to verify your e-mail address.  After you verify your e-mail address you will be able to receive an attorney’s response to your question.  The attorney’s response will also be posted on LawQA.com for future reference, or if you do not wish to verify your e-mail address.

Can the answers be considered legal advice?
No.  LawQA.com is not a law firm and any use of our website is to be used strictly for educational purposes only. You should consult a licensed attorney in your area to receive specific legal advice for your problems. (See terms of use for more info)

How do I know if the answers apply to my particular location?
Laws vary from state to state and country to country.  It is important for you to contact an attorney in your area to receive advice that is applicable to your situation and jurisdiction.

How do I answer questions on this website?
You have to be a registered user in order to answer questions.  Click the “list your firm” button at the top of the page.  A representative from LawQA.com will contact you shortly after you submit the form.

Do I have to pay to use this service? 
No.  It is free to sign up.

Do I get paid to answer questions?
No.  LawQA.com does not pay attorneys to provide answers to questions.

Can I contact users outside of LawQA.com?
No.  By signing up as a LawQA.com attorney all communication with users who post questions will be facilitated by LawQA.com.  You will not be given access to the e-mail address or personal information of a user.  If a user is interested in your services they will be able to view your contact information on your profile page.  It is the sole decision of the user to contact your firm and initiate services.

Can I post contact information or advertisements in my answers?
No. You may not post contact information or advertisements within your answers.  Your contact information will be listed on your profile page.

On what sites are LawQA questions & answers shown?
LawQA questions and answers are shown on LawQA as well as on LawQA partner sites. LawQA has chosen these sites carefully to provide users and attorneys a wider audience network for both questions and answers.
